Detailed description of Countryside Golf Course, Prairie Course

Countryside Golf Course is a Public, 36 hole golf facility located in Mundelein, Illinois. The facility has two regulation eighteen hole courses. They are The Prairie Course / East Course, and the Traditional Course / West Course.

The Prairie Course /East Course opened for play in 1992. The course was designed by Bob Lohmann. The Traditional Course / West Course opened for play in 1927.

The Traditional Course has water hazards coming into play on some holes. The most severe dogleg fairway is on hole #2, a 538-yard, par 5. This course's greens are large and well bunkered. The Traditional Course, with bentgrass tees and tree-lined fairways, offers golfers scenic and challenging rounds of play.

The Traditional Course, The West Course is the older of the two courses. There are several trees lining the fairways, two ponds that come into play on a couple holes, and sand bunkers throughout the entire course.

Always love playing here. Course was in great shape except outside of the fairways. The rough had many spots with no grass.

Prairie is the newer course (East). Traditional is West and older.

Great deal for seniors...$22 to walk weekdays! Prairie is relatively wide open but challenge bunker locations and large rolling greens. Really a nice track for a muni!

Have been playing here for last many years. Generally it is great value for the money and the course is well maintained for a public course early in the season. It is relatively easy to play with some challenging holes as well. The course conditions worsen towards the end of the season, so normally did not play much after July.

County Forest Preserve course. Price break to county residents. Nice, large driving range (but you're hitting directly into the rising sun when warming up for AM tee times. Nice in the PM to have the sun at your back.
